1 - Birdbox

Just watched Birdbox on Netflix (not to be confused with the Bird Cage....  which - yeah - you should just look that up and watch it.) This movie was better than I expected, but not as good as I hoped. Huh?  What does that mean? Well - it is a bit derivative.  It's basically a permutation of A Quiet Place (great movie, if you haven't watched it.)  It had solid emotional beats (Sandra Bullock's character with a love interest, trying to save [redacted] while understanding not all of them can survive - if they were a bit predictable. The ending was... Meh.... Overall?  An OK watch. #6/10

The Point is the Journey

What, exactly, you may ask, is the point of this? I don't know. But - if I were a betting man, I'd say... I don't know. Since I'm not a betting man, though, I can say that the basic premise is that I'm going to try and watch as many movies as possible this (2019) year. A few ground rules - because who doesn't love rules? 1. It has to be a movie I haven't already seen.  It's all about the newness (well, new to me.) 2. Documentaries are OK, as long as they fulfill rules 1 and 2. That's pretty much it. So, let's see what I can do. My goal is 500 movies for the year.  Many will be terrible.  Some will be incredible.  Most will be.. meh. As I journey through each movie, I'll leave brief thoughts here (...
